Ninja Quest

Ahh, Ninja Quest; the ambitious title about a ninja....on a quest, yeah. In Ninja Quest you first select your ninja out of a total of 6, whom doesn't seem to be any different from the others, aside from clothes, name, age, and so on. The game opens with a somewhat cool, somewhat corny intro that makes no sense apart from saving some no name princess from "the bad clan". You, being the nice and brave gentleman that you are have to go and do just that. With a nice selection of swords and projectiles on your side, you can't lose. Your introduced with a new sword at almost every level and as you slay your foes, there nice enough to give you there shurikens. These projectiles make the game easy, since they nearly take up a third of your opponents' health, making them a must have in your little ninja's arsenal. While the game tries to keep things a little lively by giving you more devastating weapons, the gameplay dies after the first 5 to 10 minutes or so.

Enemies are nothing but the left over characters from the rest of the 5 initial selections at the beginning of the game. The only difficult times are when your being ambushed by 5 or 6 of the same guys and you lack room to defend yourself, or when your trying to make a jump but fall a little short. Which brings up another issue, the respawn points after a death needed a little tweaking, as it will do nothing but drop you in the same exact place you died from, this makes getting jumps another shot a little annoying. You may find you get to the end of a level and you can't progress. Maybe because you have to defeat all of the enemies before you can move on, makes sense huh? To bad the game fails to tell you this small but useful information. But, all in all, aside from NQ's boring ending (save princess, tittle screen) Ninja Quest is a decent game if your to bored to care if what your doing is fun.
Overall

Action slasher with a paper thin plot, boring but fun in spurts gameplay with a horrible ending. Nothing spectacular but don't take my word for it, click the link and try it yourself. PEACE

This image issued by the York Archaeological Trust on Friday Dec. 12, 2008 shows brain material as dark folded matter at the top of the head in this computer-generated view into the skull. British archaeologists working at a university campus have unearthed an ancient skull carrying a startling surprise - an unusually well-preserved brain still inside. Scientists said Friday that the more than 2,000-year-old mass of gray matter was the oldest ever discovered in Britain. One expert unconnected with the find called it 'a real freak of preservation.' The skull - which was severed from its corpse sometime before the Roman invasion of Britain - was found in a muddy pit during a dig at the University of York in northern England in the fall of this year, according to Richard Hall, a director of York Archaeological Trust. Counter Strike Source Game Review

The long awaited sequel to counter-strike, counter-strike source has finally hit the market. This multi-player only game is simple and consists of a Terrorists force and a Counter-Terrorists force. Their are two types of game objectives and game maps. Their are bomb maps in which the Terrorists are trying to bomb a target, and their are hostage maps in which the Counter-Terrorists are trying to save hostages.

This game is similar to the original, but is using a whole new, impressive engine. This engine allows for realistic gravity, life like graphics, and objects spread around the maps that act as they would in the real world. However, because of this new graphics engine, you will need a good processor and solid video card to see the full effects. This new graphics engine also includes something called HDR lighting. High dynamic range imaging (HDR) is a set of techniques that allow a far greater dynamic range of exposures (i.e a large difference between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDR is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to the deepest shadows.

Counter-Strike Source uses familiar weapons and maps. The weapons are made to resemble weapons from real life like the glock, the m4a1, the ak47, and the awp. All of the same maps such as de_dust2, cs_office, cs_italy, de_nuke, and de_inferno can be played. However, these maps are all new and improved and the detail and graphics on these maps is impressive compared to the older versions of the maps.

Overall, I give this game a 9/10 and would say that this game lives up to precedent set forth by the original counter-strike.

F-Zero - Nintendo's Best But Least Known Series

F-Zero is one of Nintendo's most prominent series. Its games are on nearly every Nintendo console known. The SNES, N64, GBA, Nintendo DS all have been graced with the appearance of an F-Zero game. However, F-Zero is one of the most underrated and ignored game series on the Nintendo. F-Zero is a futuristic racing series that takes place in the late 21st century.

Each race consists of around 30 racers each competing for the goal. However, unlike most racing games, F-Zero does not have any items or special features. It is just plain racing. High speeds of over 2000 miles per hour are not common and killing many racers to get ahead is the norm. In this series, racers compete in a variety of courses such as Port Town, Big Blue, Mute City, White Land and Red Canyon. The main character in the series is Captain Falcon.

He is a bounty hunter who rides the fast and powerful Blue Falcon. However, the series has quite a story line such as defeating evil enemies such as the Black Shadow, Zoda and Blood Falcon. In F-Zero GX a story mode was added that allowed gamers to compete in a variety of courses with intended goals. Also, in F-Zero GX, gamers can build and optimize cars with custom parts that can be bought at a shot. With all of these features, one would have to ask why this series is so underrated and little known. This answer to me is still a mystery. It is a great series and remains as one of Nintendo's best series.
