Cake Mania - Hot Game Fun For Everyone

What's one of the hottest games around?

Are you looking for fast-paced Arcade-style game fun?

Here's the video game that everyone is playing or talking about playing -- Cake Mania.

A multi-level game that's family friendly with lots of challenges to keep everyone busy just having fun.

The game is set up like this

A big - bad - mean Mega Mart store (boo!) has moved in and taken over the family bakery run by our friend Jill's grandparents. Well Jill isn't going to stand by while the Mega Mart bad guys turn their family bakery into just another chain type bakery that doesn't care anything about their customers.

Secret Weapon Time

Our friend Jill is actually the secret weapon because Jill really knows how to make yummy cakes just the way customers like them.

So Jill sets up her own bakery locations where she can serve up her tasty cakes and make enough money to buy back her grandparents bakery -- I guess that'l show those meanies at the Mega Mart store.

Now the Cake Mania fun begins

Not one, not two, not three but four locations. Jill puts together four bakeries in exotic locations and starts baking the best custom cakes in the history of custom cakes.

But will that be enough to satisfy her customers?

Jill's customers are lots of fun, but they want their custom cakes just right and they want them fast.

Cake TV to the rescue

While customers wait for their cakes, Jill turns on Cake Mania TV. But can she remember each customer's favorite TV channel?

Faster, Faster, Faster

The faster Jill serves her cakes, the more money she makes.

So Jill makes up-grades to her bakeries. More ovens, more frosting stations, more microwaves. Faster, faster faster.

More Challenges

Can Jill remember what kind of cake each customer likes? Can she remember the frosting and the cake toppers? And what about those special holiday cake orders? There are even surprise customers to keep things really fun.

Imagine the fun with over 45 levels of fast-paced play to challenge everyone.

You'll love the colorful arcade style look of the Cake Mania game and you'll want to better your score and make more play money every time you play.

Are you looking for some fast-paced Arcade-style game fun?

Project 64 Roms Explained

As the years slip away, video games companies continuously give us new games to look forward to. But what if we want to play an older game? Unfortunately, consoles do not last forever and as we get older it seems that we simply lose the ability to play the games that entertained us as children (this statement ignores the Wii's Virtual Console, of course). However, emulators provide a solution to the problem... Project 64 roms give us the ability to replay full Nintendo 64 games. Read on to learn more.

What are Emulators?

Emulators are light-weight programs that act as functional substitutions for gaming consoles. They not only allow you to play existing video games, but also hack games to create new levels, challenges, etc. Emulators are mostly used for older consoles, such as the NES or the SEGA Genesis, but can used for newer consoles (though they are generally in serious need of improvement).

How do Emulators Work?

Basically all you need to know (unless you want to make your own emulator) is that the emulator program is able to open files known as ROMs or ISOs. ROMs are images of games that originally used cartridges (SNES, N64, etc.), and ISOs are images of games that were originally on discs (PS, Dreamcast, etc.). However, one emulator cannot play all ROMs or ISOs. To play a SNES ROM, you need an emulator that acts as a SNES. To play a PS ISO, you need a PS Emulator. To play 64 roms, you need an emulator like Project 64. Make sense? Good.

What are the Benefits to Using an Emulator?

Emulators allow you to enjoy a seemingly infinite number of games free-of-charge on your own computer, they take up a very insignificant amount of space on your hard drive (unless you're using an emulator for a new console), and they allow you to save your game whenever and wherever you see fit. I (Xalo) own the original Chrono Trigger for the SNES. However, I imagine many of you guys grew up with an N64 or even a later console, completely missing out on a legendary game. Once a console has lived out its lifespan and the only alternative is to buy it again to play on another console (which will again be replaced in about 3-5 years), what are you supposed to do? Emulators offer the only solution for gamers who just want to relive the classics they grew up with.

So They're Perfect, Right?

Well, nothing is perfect. The ESA has made it illegal (and often times impossible) to download some ROMs, making it difficult to find the game you're looking for. They make it illegal on the grounds that the Wii's Virtual Console is designed to let you relive your childhood by selling you yesterday's technology at today's prices. Also, many download sites look a little sketchy and should not be trusted immediately. Oftentimes the companies that made these original games are no longer in existence and are definitely not making any more money from sales of the game itself. So, buy the game on virtual console if you wish, but we prefer the comfort of our computers. There's nothing quite like the ability to save your state at any point in the game with a Project 64 rom. Also, if you don't want to get frustrated or have your hands burst in flames, we recommend you purchase a USB controller. They are around $10-$15 new but are definitely worth it if you plan on playing any fighting games (see Street Fighter).

So Which Emulators Should I Download?

We recommend the following emulators:

+ RockNESX - NES emulator

+ ZNES - SNES emulator

+ Visual Boy - Advance, GB, GBC, and GBA emulator

+ Project64 - N64 emulator

epsxe - PSX emulator

This has also been published as: project 64 emulator on Zimbio, project 64 emulator on Blogspot, project 64 roms on Hubpages.

2D Adventure RPG - What Are They?

Introduction

2D Adventure RPGs have become very popular over the years. 100s have swept the web and a lot of people are playing them. But what exactly is a 2D Adventure RPG?

What is a 2D Adventure RPG?

A 2D Adventure RPG is a type of game where a person takes on the Role of a fictional character. Thus RPG means Role-Play(ing)-Game. In an RPG, you will most of the time will have an exciting adventure ahead of you taking you through mystical lands that less have seen. From my experience, the further you travel, the more evil creatures you will have to face. However, this is not always the case, sometimes RPGs can have dangerous areas near newbie (also known as "noob") areas but they tell the player to avoid them. This can be difficult for the newbies as I know myself, you can very easily wonder into these extremely dangerous and find yourself dead.

Battles and levels

Random attacks from vicious monsters has become one of the key things in these games, although, in some games you can see your death coming :) Various rewards are normally given after the battle such as EXP/XP (Experience points which increase your character's power), GP (Gold Pieces, an overused currency in RPGs), armour, weapons and sometimes items that can help you complete a mission/quest. Leveling is a key thing in these games, if you are a low level, then that often means you won't be able to continue any further in the game without killing more creatures. Some people find this the best thing in an RPG, but I don't. I find that getting your character's level up is too repeditive, it can sometimes just take too long. I have given up half way in most RPGs because they made that big mistake. One RPG was going to require a massive amount of over 40 hours just to advance to the next part in the game! Guess what I through out a window after hearing that?

Missions and Quests

My favourite part of the game is completing missions for random strangers. Most of the time these are really fun but they can be boring such as delivering a letter (sigh). Quests are small or long journeys that you must complete various tasks in order to pass. Once done, you will be giving rewards that may solve other quests or just enhance your current character. Solving a quest may also trigger other quests thus advancing in the game. You may be giving two different paths to follow in a quest/game for example, good and evil. This can also be good as once you are done, you could try the other side to see what that journey is like.

Conclusion

A 2D Adventure RPG is a great game that requires skill and some time. It can be the best game ever, but it really depends on who made it. The quality of these games vary from nothing to a legendary game! You can't always judge these games when you first play them, as you may just find the controls difficult to master. Enjoy your adventure!

Wii Your Way to Thinness

When my son received his Wii for Christmas, I only assumed that it was just another video box that would be used for a couple of months and then be in the way forever. Boy, was I wrong! I watched a few teenagers use it after Christmas and then I couldn't wait to get in on the fun.

The Wii wasn't just a sit on your rear and get so into the game you were oblivious to everything else game. It was actually a work-out video that gives you numerous games to play so you will never become bored. Wii is a game that gives you interaction with others and if you play it with your family, it gives you quality family time. And this Mom, 48 years old, was ready to play along with her teenagers.

The first time I played golf and bowling, I was so sore the next day I couldn't move. I used muscles I hadn't used in a long time. Not only did we get a good work-out, it relieved tension and cleared our minds of the stress build-up which had accumulated during the day. The gloomy winter days soon turned into 'fun-filled, can't wait to play the games with my family' entertainment.

Aside from having quality, fun time with my family, we actually began to fine tune our bodies. We were moving around and really exercising. The Wii was helping our cardiovascular system as well as taking off a few inches here and there. The Wii was pricey and the added games are too, but I am able to say that it has been well worth the money for our family.

My husband, my son, my daughter, their friends (and of course I) play Wii almost daily.
